Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: West Hollywood, California

Job Requirements

• Valid RN license in California
• Minimum 2 years of PACU (Post Anesthesia Care) experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Skills in conscious sedation IV start
• Experience with pulmonary artery lines
• Experience with telemetry ventilators

• Weekend shifts as needed
• Floating required
• No on-call required

Job Duties / Unit Information

• Caseload: 120-140 cases per day
• Over 100 Preop PACU bays
• RN will work across all areas of the unit
• Primarily adult patient population
• Surgical specialties include: General, Trauma, Thoracic, Surgical Oncology, Gender Affirming Surgeries, Reconstructive Breast, Bariatric, Colorectal, Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology, Spine, Neurosurgery, Cardiac, Vascular, Pediatrics, Plastic, Hand, Foot/Ankle, Liver, Kidney, Organ Transplants, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, EENT, Pain, Ophthalmology

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license
• Minimum 2 years PACU nursing experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• Skills in conscious sedation IV starts, pulmonary artery line management, and telemetry ventilators

Additional Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet essential job functions
• Fit test for N95 or equivalent mask within 1 year, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (with additional requirements if history of positive TB)
• Required immunizations/vaccinations: MMR (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B, Varicella
• Drug screening within 1 year (excluding marijuana/THC)
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31) for candidates starting during or after flu season start dates
• Background check including 7-year criminal history and education verification
• Professional references: 2 required, at least 1 supervisory

Competency and Testing

• Pass/fail EKG assessment during orientation
• Medication test during orientation (not pass/fail)
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required (time sensitive)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification check
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam required

Notes

• Candidates must have an active RN license at time of application; pending licenses are not accepted
• Floating within the unit is required
• No scheduling requests or preferences can be accommodated
• Orientation includes various competency assessments and certifications verification
• Photo for badge must meet strict requirements (passport-style photo)
