Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Davis, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work in a 6-bed adult medical surgical ICU with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1.
Preferably requires 2 years of ICU experience.
May be floated to Emergency Department and Medical Surgical/Telemetry departments based on census and staffing needs.
May be scheduled for day shifts as needed.

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in California.
Minimum of 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, with ICU experience within the last year.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.

Prior Travel Experience

Background and Compliance Requirements

7-year background check required within 6 months of start, including SSN trace with all aliases, county searches, nationwide sex offender search, education verification, and FACIS Level 3 screening.
EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, OFAC Sanctions List, and Medi-Cal Suspended and Ineligible Provider List checks required as applicable.
Education verification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Drug screening: Negative 9-panel drug screen within 6 months of start (excluding marijuana/cannabinoids due to CA law).
Physical exam within 1 year of start, including clearance for work.
Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually (with accommodations for religious exemptions or failed tests).
Immunizations and titers required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella, and seasonal flu vaccination during flu season. Religious and medical exemptions considered with proper documentation.
Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start, renewed annually.
Respiratory safety clearance required prior to start, renewed annually.
References: 2 professional references required within 3 years for clinical positions.

Certifications and Competencies

ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications mandatory.

Work Environment

Adult medical surgical ICU setting.
