Job Opportunity: Case Manager - Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska
Facility Type: Acute Hospital (Magnet Facility, Level II Trauma)
Shift: 5x8 Days (Shift times vary between 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Case Manager role. The position requires acute care experience and proficiency with Epic electronic health records. The nurse will work day shifts with every other weekend or 4 weekend days in a 4-week schedule. Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected.


Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Alaska
  • Minimum 1 year of Case Management experience within the last year
  • Acute Care experience
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Experience with Epic electronic health records

Work Hours & Conditions

  • Guaranteed 72 hours per 2 weeks
  • May be called off for one 8-hour shift per 2 weeks
  • Only one time-off request per 13-week assignment (up to 5 days)
  • No holiday time off allowed for auto offer

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Background check within 45 days covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • Drug screen (10 panel) within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • TB test or chest X-ray (annual update required)
    • TDAP vaccine within 10 years or declination
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or declination (Alaska placements require positive titer and vaccine series)
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
    • Flu vaccine or declination during flu season
    • COVID vaccine or declination
  • Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required annually for travel candidates
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within the last 3 years
  • Employment application covering at least last 5 years

Training & Competency Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
  • Epic training and access transcripts required
  • Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
    • Annual regulatory requirements
    • Specialty-specific modules (ER, L&D, Leadership roles, etc.)
    • Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit and specialty (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, CPI)

Additional Notes

  • Floating policy acknowledgment required; may float to other Providence facilities within reasonable distance
  • Locals not accepted; candidate must reside at least 50 miles away
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • No prior travel experience explicitly required
