Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) for a travel/contract position in California.


Experience Requirements

  • NURSYS Verification (for RN)

Required Documents & Background Checks

  • Background Check within 45 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start, updated monthly
  • Education Verification (nursing degree verification required)

  • State-specific searches as applicable (e.g., WA State Patrol Search for Washington placements)
  • Physical Exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit Mask test (annual, travel only)
  • Immunizations and Health Documents:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray (within 12 months, updated annually)
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer or declination
    • Flu Seasonal Vaccination (required during flu season or declination)
    • COVID vaccination or declination
  • Drug Testing: 10 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)

Competencies & Training

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
  • Competency Exams relevant to specialty
  • Color Blind Testing (if required by unit)
  • Skills Checklist (updated annually)
  • WorkRamp Modules:
    • Core Modules for RN/LVN in California (must be completed prior to start)
    • Specialty-specific modules for PACU and other relevant specialties
    • Annual Regulatory Requirements modules
    • Epic Access Training (if applicable)

Additional Requirements

  • Float Policy Acknowledgement: May be required to float to other facilities within reasonable distance
  • References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within last 3 years in comparable specialty/setting
