Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Auburn, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Emergency Room Registered Nurse position
- Requires 2+ years of recent ER nursing experience
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid New York State RN license
- Experience: Minimum 2 years recent ER nursing experience
- Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA required
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - Preferred but not required for ER
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit specifics
Required Compliance and Documentation
- Unexpired government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Background checks including:
- Comprehensive background check within 1 year covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check prior to start
- HHS/OIG check prior to start
- Primary source verification of RN license (NURSYS verification) prior to start
- Physical exam completed within 12 months prior to start, signed by licensed provider confirming ability to perform job duties
- Fit mask test within 12 months and updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within last 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella immunity (2 MMR vaccines or serologic titers)
- Hepatitis B series, titer, or signed declination
- Varicella immunity (2 vaccines, positive titer, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season
- COVID vaccine records or declination
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start
- Stroke education: 8 hours annually (NIH Stroke Scale training may count)
- NIH Stroke Scale certification annually as applicable
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable
- Telemetry pass/fail testing on first day of orientation (80% minimum score) for cardiac rhythm interpretation if assigned to telemetry units
- Completion of facility-specific documents including code of conduct, patient abuse reporting, confidentiality agreements, orientation packet, and automated dispensing cabinet security training
Additional Requirements
- 2 professional references within 3 years of hire
- Skills checklist required
- Compliance with New York State Nurse Aide Registry and Medicaid Exclusion List requirements
