Job Opportunity: Pharmacist Inpatient (Travel/Contract)

Job Details

• Shift Times:

  • 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or
  • 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday)
    Pharmacists may be assigned to either shift.

• Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacy experience
  • Oncology experience (inpatient or outpatient) preferred
  • IV preparation experience required

• Time Off:

  • Total of 5 days of paid time off allowed during the contract

Required Credentials & Certifications

• Valid State Pharmacy License (primary source verification within 30 days of start)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year county checks
  • National and federal criminal searches
  • Social Security trace
  • Sex offender search
  • OFAC sanctions list
  • HHS/OIG checks
• Education verification (diploma or official transcript/third-party verification)
• Drug testing: 10-panel including THC within 30 days of start
• Physical exam or statement of health within 1 year of assignment start
• Fit mask test within 12 months (3M-N95 mask sizes specified)
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (booster within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray (QuantiFERON gold or TSpot within 90 days)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (MMR vaccines or positive titers)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or positive titer
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required annually
• COVID-19 vaccination preferred but not required as of 7/7/2025

Competencies & Exams

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (minimum 80% pass rate)
• Unit-specific competency exams (minimum 80% pass rate)
• Color Blind Testing (HRR-Ishihara test, 100% passing score required)
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) updated annually with minimum 80% score

Additional Requirements

• Two supervisory references required (one within last year, second within last 2 years)
• Employment history covering 7 years or back to graduation with no gaps over 30 days
• Skills checklist for assigned and float units
• Mandatory Reporter Certification for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training (Iowa state requirement)
• Compliance with facility-specific online modules and safety manual acknowledgment (HIPAA)
• Completion of facility-specific exemption forms if applicable (COVID and Flu medical/religious exemptions)
• Signing of facility memorandums and agreements as required
