Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Rehab RN)
Location: Chambersburg, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Job Description
- Work as a Rehab RN caring for short-stay patients who are more acute than typical skilled nursing facility (SNF) patients.
- Schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each per week (36 hours total)
- Every other weekend required
Requirements
- Pennsylvania RN license (PA or compact license accepted)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC only)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or ARC only
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (preferred)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA or ARC only (preferred)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (as applicable)
- Competency Exam with minimum passing score of 80% or higher if Angoff score applies
Background & Compliance Checks
- Standard background check within 30 days of start, updated annually, including:
- 7-year search of locations lived/worked/schooled
- Nationwide sex offender registry
- Education verification
- EPLS/GSA/SAM checks annually
- Pennsylvania-specific requirements:
- PA Child Abuse Clearance (Childline) within 6 months of start, including all aliases
- PA Department of Human Services Fingerprint Results (ACT 73 Clearance) and FBI fingerprint clearance required within 6 months of start
- Department of Aging fingerprint results required (long-term care facility requirement)
- Medicheck search within 30 days including all aliases
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray (2-step PPD preferred within 12 months; Tspot or QGold accepted)
- Proof of immunity or vaccination for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
- Varicella (titer, 2 vaccines, or history of chickenpox)
- 9 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screen acceptable)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (documentation required)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (Aya exemption form accepted)
Documentation & References
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Emergency contact form required prior to start
- 2 professional references for travel, allied, or per diem acute care roles (within 3 years)
- Annual skills checklist
Additional Notes
- Candidates can start with fingerprint receipts showing prints have been taken; results must be submitted within 30 days of start or assignment may be canceled.
- Fingerprint results may take 10-14 days to receive; candidates are encouraged to pick up results in person if timing is tight.
- Facility is a long-term care setting, so fingerprinting and background checks are strictly enforced.
