Certifications Required

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Competency & Testing Requirements

• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (annual renewal required)
• Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) with up to 3 attempts to pass with 80% or higher; remediation required after failed attempts
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required for multiple units including Med Surg, Tele, ICUs, Step Down, etc.

Background & Health Requirements

• Background Check: Required within 6 months of start; includes SSN trace, 7-year county residence, nationwide search, sex offender search, and international search if applicable
• Physical Exam: Required within 1 year, signed by physician, NP, or PA-C; must be updated annually
• Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days (specific substances listed)
• Immunizations & Titers:

  • TDAP (within last 10 years, no declinations accepted)
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines required, no declinations accepted)
  • Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or signed declination accepted)
  • Flu Vaccine: Required year-round; medical or religious exemptions accepted with facility-specific forms; must be updated annually
• TB Screening: Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start; annual renewal required

Additional Requirements

• Return Staff Policy: Must be gone for 1 year to return as a traveler
• System Contract Limit: Maximum of 2 contracts (can extend once), then must be gone for 6 months before returning
• Photo for Badge: Professional passport-style photo required (no large earrings, face jewelry, unnatural hair colors, or head coverings unless for religious reasons)
• Multiple facility-specific documents must be reviewed and signed prior to start (e.g., RN Job Description, Confidentiality Agreement, Patient Identification Agreement, Corporate Code of Conduct, etc.)
• Parking Registration required if driving to work

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates must be prepared for floating within similar units as needed
• Facility uses Epic for charting and has a 1:5-6 nurse-to-patient ratio
