Job Opportunity: OR X-Ray Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Spartanburg, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Role: OR X-Ray Tech (will only be working in the OR)
- Schedule: 5x8 shifts, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
- On-call: One weekday on-call per week and every 5th weekend on-call rotation
- Work Locations: Rotating between two campuses
- Start Date: ASAP
- First-time travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
- Must be located at least 75 miles from the facility (no locals accepted)
- Pending state license accepted but must be obtained prior to starting
Experience Requirements
- Specialty Years of Experience: Minimum 1 year X-Ray OR experience required
- Prior Travel Experience: Required (first-timers not accepted)
Licenses & Certifications Required
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) license
- SCRQSA (South Carolina Radiologic Quality Standards Act) license
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (AHA required, RQI acceptable)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement required
On-Call Requirement
- Yes, weekday and weekend call rotation
Key Compliance & Background Checks
- 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- South Carolina statewide search required regardless of residence
- Education verification (highest level of education must be verified)
- E-Verify proof required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 3 months of start (various accepted tests)
- Vaccinations or exemptions required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
- Varicella
- Drug testing within 60 days of start (10 panel + Oxy + Marijuana)
- Flu vaccination or declination required during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID vaccination (Dose 1 and 2) required or declination form
Additional Competencies & Testing
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required within 1 year of start and updated annually
- Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) required for RN’s; includes arrhythmia and drug calculations
- Facility-specific orientation and testing requirements apply
Facility & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service
- Social Security Card required if used for I9 documentation
- Photo for badge required (neck up, plain background)
- Employment application required
- Skills checklist must be updated annually
- References required (2 within 2 years for this facility)
Attendance Policy
- If more than two shifts are missed without reasonable explanation during the 13-week contract, the contract may be reviewed for cancellation
This position is ideal for experienced OR X-Ray Technologists with prior travel contract experience who meet the licensing and certification requirements and are willing to work a rotating on-call schedule.
