Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Telemetry)
Location: Tyler, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit & Patient Population
- 36-bed unit (5 North) with private rooms
- Patient ages range from young adult to geriatric
- Focus on cardiac care patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, pacemaker implants, and stable non-procedural cardiac patients
- Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
- Float required to units of equal or lesser acuity
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience required
- Prior travel experience required (first-timers not accepted)
- Weekend shifts required every other weekend
- EPIC experience required
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
- NIH Stroke Certification preferred
- Other certifications as applicable: PALS, NRP, CHEMO, TNCC, MAB, CPI
Licensure & Verification
- State RN license verification required (primary source)
- NURSYS verification required
- Education verification required (highest level)
Background & Compliance Checks
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required upon hire
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, must be renewed annually
- Adult TDAP vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test (2-step PPD, QGOLD, or TSPOT) within 1 year
- TB questionnaire for positive TB results, renewed annually
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required
- Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
- Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required

This position is ideal for experienced telemetry RNs with prior travel contract experience who are comfortable working in a cardiac-focused telemetry unit and meet the comprehensive certification, licensure, and health requirements.
