Required Qualifications
- License: Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Louisiana
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable (required for ICU RNs)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA provider, instructor, or RQI acceptable (required for ER)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) - required for Labor & Delivery and NICU RNs
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - required for ER and Behavioral Health
- NIH Stroke Certification - required for ER and specific hospital units
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check (updated annually if no assignment in last 90 days)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Annual respirator fit testing (Fit Mask)
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 90 days prior to start
- Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Competencies:
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as required by specialty
- Competency exam as required by profession/specialty
- References: 2 professional references required
- Identification: Copy of valid photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
