Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Pratt, Kansas
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
Unit: Med/Surg ICU with medical overflow patients at times
Patient care: Telemetry monitoring, drips, ventilators, BiPAPs, occasional arterial or CVP monitoring
Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:2

Licensure & Certifications Required

Kansas RN license or compact license at time of submission
BLS (Basic Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
All required certifications must be current at time of submission

Experience Requirements

Specialty: Registered Nurse (Med/Surg ICU)

Physical exam:
- Initial physical exam and annual updates attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Physician statement confirming "free of communicable diseases and cleared to work" within 12 months of start
Drug testing: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months of start
Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine required
- Negative TB test (PPD, Quantiferon Gold, or T-spot) or chest X-ray as applicable, updated annually
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Proof of immunity via titer or 2 vaccines
- Hepatitis B: Series, titer, or declination documentation
- Varicella: Proof of immunity via titer or 2 vaccines
- Flu vaccine mandatory during flu season (Oct 31 - Mar 31) unless medically exempt; mask required if exempt
- COVID-19 vaccine no longer required; declination or exemption accepted on facility form
Competency exams:
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% passing score)
- Unit-specific competency exam (minimum 80% passing score)
Orientation and training:
- Completion of facility-specific training videos and modules prior to start
- Review and sign confidentiality agreement, standards of performance, agency information sheet
- Completion of restraints training and suicide/behavioral risk assessment training prior to arrival
- OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission annual training or attestation required
