Registered Nurse – MS/Tele Float (Night Shift)

Schedule

• Night shift, 4 shifts per 8-day period (4x12 hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts out of 8 possible in a 4-week period (Saturday and Sunday days; Friday and Saturday nights)
• Holiday coverage required: Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)

Job Description

• Must be prepared to float frequently to meet hospital staffing needs, including potential float to a sister campus 16 minutes away
• Assignment to units based on experience; preferred unit requests considered at submission
• Units include various medical-surgical, telemetry, neuro, trauma, oncology, transplant, and progressive care units
• Drip medication administration required on all floors
• EPIC electronic charting experience required
• Facility is 100% nicotine-free
• Scrubs: Mandatory Steele gray scrubs with facility logo (provided after confirmation)
• Parking permit available (~$55/month) or daily parking option

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license valid in Nebraska (pending license accepted if in hand at time of submission; otherwise booking delayed)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a large, urban hospital setting (or 2 years at a Level I Academic Medical Center for first-time travelers)
• BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Prior travel experience not explicitly required, but first-time travelers only considered with 2 years at Level I Academic Medical Center
• EPIC charting experience mandatory

Additional Requirements

• Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays during assignment
• Locals not accepted (must live more than 100 miles from facility)
• Government-issued photo ID required
• Background check within 30 days of start, including multiple county/state/federal checks and education verification
• Various certifications and verifications required prior to start, including:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) as applicable
  • PALS, NRP, NIH Stroke Certification as applicable per unit
  • State license verification and NURSYS verification
• Health documents required and must be current:

  • Physical exam within 1 year, updated annually
  • Fit test for N95 masks within 1 year, updated annually
  • Immunizations: Tdap, MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer), Hepatitis B titer or declination, Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray with TB questionnaire if history positive, updated annually
  • Drug screen within 60 days of start, updated annually
  • Flu vaccine preferred (documentation or declination required)
  • COVID vaccine preferred; exemptions accepted
• Annual skills checklist required
• Two professional references from work within past 2 years required
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement required
• Must submit requests for time off (RTO) with application; up to two weeks permitted, additional at manager discretion
