Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - NICU

Location

Shift Details

  • Day shift, 3 shifts per week
  • 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Approximately 36 hours per week
  • Weekend work as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Certified Respiratory Therapist with NICU experience, including at least 2 years of experience
  • NICU respiratory therapy experience within the last year
  • Pediatric Respiratory Therapist experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

On-Call and Scheduling

  • No on-call required
  • No block schedule accommodations unless otherwise stated
  • Locals accepted
  • Return to office (RTO) restrictions: maximum 1 week

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
  • Education verification required
  • Various certifications may be required depending on unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP) – refer to unit-specific job descriptions
  • Primary source verification of state license required
  • Physical exam and fit mask test required (fit test within 12 months of start)
  • Immunizations and titers required or declination documentation for:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (vaccination series or positive titer or declination)
    • Varicella (vaccination or titer; history of disease not accepted)
    • Influenza seasonal vaccination or approved exemption/declination
    • COVID vaccination or declination for tracking
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray required (various acceptable testing methods)
  • Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen within one year of start (required by agency, not facility)
  • Suicide prevention training required for multi-state licensed nurses working in Washington (if applicable)
  • EPIC/Alaris integration video and attestation required for RNs (may apply to RTs depending on unit)
  • Photo for badge required (DMV style, no selfies)
  • Various facility-specific agreements and checklists must be completed prior to start

Additional Notes

  • Performance evaluation may be requested at the end of assignment
  • Radiation badges are not provided by agency for new candidates; must be supplied by facility if needed
  • Candidates may be called off or placed on-call in 4-hour increments during low census periods, up to one shift worth of hours in a 2-week cycle
  • No scheduling on weekends or holidays for ambulatory or surgical services areas that are closed during those times
