Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology Clinic
Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)
Position Overview
- Role: Registered Nurse in an Oncology Clinic setting
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
- Local candidates within 75 miles are considered eligible
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Orientation & Onboarding
- Orientation sessions occur bi-weekly
- Completion of unit-specific competency exams required
- Must complete all required online modules prior to orientation
- Candidate must set up a facility-specific Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Background check within 90 days of start, covering all counties lived, worked, or attended school in the past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
- Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no exemptions)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific documentation if history of positive TB)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination per facility policy (no exemptions)
- Varicella immunity or vaccination
- Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination documentation
- Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (no exemptions)
- Polio vaccine or signed attestation
Additional Documentation
- Employment application with 7 years of work history
- Skills checklist updated annually
- Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing (EKG/medication knowledge) administered at orientation (except Hospice RNs)
- Competency checklists (CBOs) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date
Notes for Candidates
- Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments at this facility may have some documentation requirements waived or accepted on file
- Color blind testing is required only for specific roles (not applicable here)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training may be required depending on unit; training provided onsite if needed
- Candidates must upload all required documentation and certifications prior to orientation

Unnecessarily strict policies when sick/injured; doctor notes are not accepted as an “excuse”, micromanagement, unprofessional leadership, bullying, favoritism and unfairness, not willing to train certain people in certain areas or approve certain people’s requests off , heavy workload and constantly being rushed, micromanaged, and distracted by gossip/drama while having to pay attention to detail, not willing to repair/replace certain functions.
