Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Oncology Clinic

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week)

Position Overview

• Role: Registered Nurse in an Oncology Clinic setting
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts (8:00 AM to 4:30 PM)
• Local candidates within 75 miles are considered eligible

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience, with oncology experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation sessions occur bi-weekly
• Completion of unit-specific competency exams required
• Must complete all required online modules prior to orientation
• Candidate must set up a facility-specific Guest Account prior to clearance to access orientation and work systems

Background & Compliance Requirements

• Background check within 90 days of start, covering all counties lived, worked, or attended school in the past 7 years
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 90 days of start
• Drug test: Negative 10-panel (including THC) within 30 days of start; instant tests not accepted
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine every 10 years (no exemptions)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (with specific documentation if history of positive TB)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) immunity or vaccination per facility policy (no exemptions)
  • Varicella immunity or vaccination
  • Hepatitis B titer, vaccine series, or declination documentation
  • Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season (no exemptions)
  • Polio vaccine or signed attestation

Additional Documentation

• Employment application with 7 years of work history
• Skills checklist updated annually
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing (EKG/medication knowledge) administered at orientation (except Hospice RNs)
• Competency checklists (CBOs) must be completed within 3 weeks after start date

Notes for Candidates

• Candidates with less than a 30-day gap between previous assignments at this facility may have some documentation requirements waived or accepted on file
• Color blind testing is required only for specific roles (not applicable here)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Blue Card training may be required depending on unit; training provided onsite if needed
• Candidates must upload all required documentation and certifications prior to orientation
