Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Corinth, Mississippi
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 3x12-hour shifts rotating with 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Schedule: Alternating weekends; work every other weekend
• Unit: Labor and Delivery, 8-bed LDRP Level 1, plus 4 observation/triage rooms
• Responsibilities: Circulate and recover cesarean sections (C-Section)
• EMR Systems: Meditech, Centricity Perinatal

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Mississippi
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Unexpired government-issued photo ID (e.g., Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background checks within 1 year, including SS Trace, County searches (7 years), Nationwide, Sex Offender registry
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks prior to start
• Copy of BSN or ASN diploma
• NURSYS verification prior to start
• Signed Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (Joint Commission Training)
• Primary source verification of state license prior to start and upon expiration
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Skills checklist required
• Two professional references within 3 years of hire
• Facility-specific vaccination policy acknowledgment and new hire forms

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months prior to start
• Negative TB test (PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year; chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
• Annual TB questionnaire if applicable
• Immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap required for Labor and Delivery RNs
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• 9-panel drug screen within 90 days prior to start (instant tests acceptable)

Additional Notes

• Mississippi State Department of Health criminal history fingerprint results required for patient-facing positions; valid for 2 years
• Locals accepted at the same rate as travelers
