Cath Lab Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: Metairie, Louisiana
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

  • Stents
  • Ablations
  • Paracentesis
  • Peripheral vascular procedures (Upper and Lower Extremities)
  • Abdominal and Pelvic vascular studies
  • Venous Access
  • Hemodynamic Monitoring
• Equipment Experience Required: Phillips single-plane system
• Preferred Equipment Experience: Siemens, Bi-Plane
• Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
• Weekend Requirement: Once every fifth week
• Call Requirement: Yes, 5-8 shifts depending on staffing
• Holiday Requirement: Yes
• Float Requirement: No
• Scrubs: Supplied by facility

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience required; 3 years preferred in Radiology/Cardiology specialty
• Certifications:

  • ARRT or RCIS
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • LSRT (Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist) – temporary LSRT accepted (issued within 3-5 days after fee and ARRT proof)
• Epic experience required
• Valid state license for Cath Lab Tech specialty (must be verified within 30 days of start)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID matching all documentation
• Background check within 6 months covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years, including:

  • Social Security Trace
  • County, Nationwide, Sex Offender, Federal Extended, FACIS Level 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel including marijuana, cocaine, amphetamines, opiates, etc.)
• Employment application with 7 years of work history, no gaps over 30 days
• Competency exams (Medication/Pharmacology, Dysrhythmia/EKG, Core Parts I-III) required annually with minimum 80% score
• Annual TB questionnaire and negative TB test or chest X-ray as applicable
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or documented:

  • Tdap (within 10 years)
  • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B series, titer, or declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31) with exemptions accepted
• Physical exam not required by facility but recommended within 12 months of start
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification may be required depending on unit (check unit description)
