Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse

Location: Onancock, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Work Schedule

• Night shift, 3 shifts per week
• Each shift is 12 hours (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Total 36 hours per week

Job Description

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery nursing
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required
• Locals allowed at the same rate

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience, with recent experience within the last year
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Licensure & Documentation

• Valid government-issued photo ID required
• Current driver’s license required (for all Home Health & Hospice positions; verify if applicable)
• Background check: 7-year criminal history check within one year of start, updated annually
• Virginia State Police National Criminal Background Check fingerprint results may be required (check if applicable)
• Physical exam within last 12 months
• Drug screen within last 12 months
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • TB test or chest X-ray (with clearance letter if positive)
  • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer
  • Hepatitis B: series, titer, or facility-specific declination
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) with strict deadlines; medical or religious exemptions accepted with approval
  • COVID vaccine series preferred; declination form accepted if no vaccine records available

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Photo for badge: recent, professional headshot meeting specific guidelines
• Confidentiality agreement, scrub color policy, safety brochure, dress code, drug-free policy, and hand washing hygiene policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
• TB questionnaire updated annually
• Various vaccination exemption requests require facility approval
• Pass/fail testing and orientation requirements must be completed
