Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Location: Gardner, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

Shift: Evening, 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM (36 hours per week)
Schedule: Varied Sunday through Saturday
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and every other holiday
Call Requirement: None
Float Requirement: None
Patient Ratio Target: 1 nurse to 5 patients
Unit Systems: Omnicell, Meditech
Orientation: 12 hours on unit plus hospital orientation
Scrubs: Any color

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Massachusetts
Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
Completion of at least one travel assignment
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Background Requirements

Massachusetts Statewide iCORI Clearance (Criminal Background Check) within 30 days of start, updated annually
7-year Criminal Background Check including aliases, counties, national, sex offender, and education verification
EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start
Education Verification or official transcript
Primary source verification of state license

Health & Immunization Requirements

Physical exam within 1 year of start
Fit mask test within 1 year (acceptable masks: 1870+, 1860, 1860S); can be completed onsite if needed
Adult dose of Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years
Negative TB test or chest X-ray with TB questionnaire (annual questionnaire accepted in lieu of test)
Immunity or vaccination documentation for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or completed series; if low/equivocal titer, boosters or declination required)
- Varicella
Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination during flu season (Nov 1 - Mar 31)
COVID-19 booster documentation or signed declination

Facility Specific Requirements

Passport-style photo for badge (neck up, light background)
Review and sign multiple facility policies and agreements including confidentiality, corporate compliance, standards of behavior, and emergency contact form
Complete vehicle registration form prior to start
Upload required compliance documents and complete TB survey in facility’s document management system prior to start

Additional Notes

Travelers located within 30 miles of the facility may receive a rate adjustment (not included here)
Prior travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be accepted for this unit
