Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional nursing care to a group of patients during a designated time frame. Responsibilities include:
- Performing duties specific to the unit’s scope of service
- Implementing nursing procedures and theories relevant to the practice area
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care
- Completing initial patient assessments and developing appropriate care plans based on patient and family needs
- Implementing and modifying care plans through continuous evaluation
- Ensuring patient and employee safety by reporting or correcting hazards and incidents
- Communicating effectively with colleagues to resolve issues and support professional development
- Identifying personal learning needs and pursuing appropriate solutions
- Meeting all departmental competency requirements
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum of 3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Orthopedics
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
