Position Details

• Shift: 0600-1830 (may include weekends and holidays)
• Shift Flexibility: May be asked to flex shifts (nights to days or days to nights) depending on department needs, but not within the same pay period.
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform specialized respiratory therapy services as directed by provider orders.
• Follow protocols, policies, and procedures established by the hospital.
• Adult acute care experience required; adult critical care experience preferred.
• Facility serves adult patients only (no NICU/PICU or pediatric experience needed).

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy.
• Education: Successful completion of a National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) approved Respiratory Therapy program.
• Licensure/Certification:

  • Must hold the NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential before starting.
  • Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications or equivalent.
• Additional Skills:

  • Familiarity with The Joint Commission standards and requirements.
  • Understanding of computer use.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Awareness of risks related to infectious patients, needle puncture hazards, and compressed gases.

Notes

• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• This is an adult-only facility; pediatric experience is not required.
