Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour day shifts (06:30 AM - 07:00 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
• Float Requirements: Support all patient care areas including Emergency Department and general care areas; may float to other central locations with advance notice
• On Call/Call-Back: Not applicable, but travelers may be placed on call for low census hours with call back pay if called in

Required Qualifications

• Education: Associate’s Degree
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years in respiratory therapy with pediatric experience required
• Prior Travel Experience: Previous travel experience required
• Licenses/Certifications:

  • Active Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist license required
  • NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required; NBRC Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted if RRT obtained within one year
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Advanced NRP preferred
  • Certifications must be from AHA or ARC

Skills and Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy support across all hospital patient care areas including ED and general care
• Emergency response for Rapid Response and Code Blue situations
• Basic respiratory care, critical care, ventilator management
• Patient assessment using Assess and Treat Protocols for all age groups
• Experience with equipment such as V60 BIPAP, HAMILTON G5 and C1 ventilators, iSTAT
• Documentation in EPIC electronic health record system

Additional Information

• Radius rule: Contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Dress code: Closed-toed shoes, scrubs of any color, clean appearance, no smoking or scents, piercings per policy
• Flu and COVID vaccination required or mask-wearing at all times during flu season per facility policy
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours
