Job Opportunity: Cardiovascular Surgical Tech

Job Description

Seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Surgical Tech to support a busy cardiothoracic surgical team performing approximately 50-60 cases per month. The role involves setting up operative suites, managing case carts, scrubbing in for a variety of surgical specialties, and turning over rooms efficiently throughout the day. Flexibility and a strong work ethic are essential, including willingness to perform downtime tasks such as pulling case carts and cleaning.

Work Schedule & Requirements

• 40 hours per week, 8-hour variable shifts
• On-call: 1 night per week, 1 weekend per month, plus 1 backup call per week
• Weekend and holiday rotation (every 3rd weekend, holiday coverage)
• 30-minute response time when on call (must be ready and in the OR within 30 minutes)
• May be required to float to other central locations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience (highest required experience)
• Prior travel experience required
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Required Certifications: BLS; CST license preferred
• Must have AHA or ARC certifications (per facility policy)
• Experience with cardiac/thoracic cases, including thoracic robot experience

• Facility uses Epic for charting
• Must be resilient, adaptable to change, and able to work well in a social team environment
• Scrub colors: any color allowed
• Flu and COVID vaccination required or mask-wearing policy strictly enforced during flu season
• Radius rule: contractors must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
