Cardiac Telemetry/Step Down RN

Overview

• Travel assignment in Wausau, Wisconsin
• 13-week contract
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Float to all inpatient units as needed

Required Qualifications

• WI RN License
• BLS
• ACLS
• Must be able to pass EKG test in the first week of hire
• 1 year strong cardiac experience in Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU
• 2 years IMC, PCU, or Tele experience
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
• At least one completed travel assignment
• 1 year recent EPIC charting experience

Unit Details

• 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit
• Fast-paced unit with high patient turnover
• Typical patient ratio: 1:4
• Common patient population includes post-op CABG/Valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defib, ablations, acute CP/MI, and med/surg overflow such as detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and Fem Pop Bypass

Additional Assignment Details

• Low census may occur in 4-hour increments, including 4 or 8 hours of a shift
• Not considered on call
• Scrub colors: any color
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu and COVID vaccination must wear a mask at all times
