Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, rotating weekends

Staffing: Approximately 150 staff members
Patient Ratios: 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
Typical Staffing per Shift:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs for 1:1 or 1:2 patient care
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs for 1:1 or 1:2 patient care
Equipment Used: Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, Ultrasound
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Permanent Positions Available: Yes

Job Description

Provide nursing care in Labor and Delivery, including support for spontaneous vaginal deliveries (SVD), cerclages, C-sections, and trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC).
Night shift with alternating weekends; no call requirements.
Team-oriented environment requiring a positive attitude.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
Clinical competencies:
- Intermediate fetal monitoring
- Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Sterile vaginal exam (SVE) competency
- Internal monitor placement competency
- C-section circulation

Dress Code

Scrubs must be navy blue.
T-shirts are not acceptable; only solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts allowed.

Additional Information

The unit is a high-volume Level IV unit, offering exposure to a wide range of Labor and Delivery procedures.
Candidates with previous assignments or employment within similar hospital systems are preferred.
Adherence to attendance policies is required.
The unit is equipped with modern technology and equipment to support patient care.
