Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Louisiana
Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
ACLS
BLS
NRP
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Ability to interpret fetal heart rate monitoring strips
Proficiency in performing vaginal examinations
Experience as an obstetric circulator

Key Clinical Skills

Starting IVs and drawing labs
Interpreting fetal strips
Vaginal exams
OB circulator experience

Preferred Skills

Ability to scrub

Unit Details

Labor & delivery unit with 2 triage rooms, 10 labor rooms, and 2 ORs
Typical patient ratios are 1:1 or 2:1 depending on acuity
Common procedures include vaginal deliveries, C-sections, amniocentesis, amnioinfusions, and IUPC/FSE placement

Schedule / Work Expectations

Rotates every other weekend
Possible circulator call

Floating

Closed unit
May float to postpartum
