Overview

• Schedule: Rotating shifts: 0730-1600, 0800-1630, and 1400-2230
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Work type: Full Time

Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Texas
• Pharmacist (1 year of experience)
• Pharmacist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• IV Certification
• Doctoral degree in pharmacy or bachelor's degree in pharmacy
• Needs to be comfortable monitoring and adjusting pharmacokinetics
• Capable to mix sterile compounds if needed
• Experience with Epic

Role Summary

• Prepares and dispenses drug orders
• Interprets and verifies drug orders in the patient medication record
• Compounds and dispenses non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products
• Issues controlled substances and maintains required records
• Supervises pharmacy support personnel and verifies pharmacy technician activities
• Provides ambulatory pharmaceutical care services when assigned, including anticoagulation management, patient education, and medication preparation/dispensing
• Monitors drug therapy, assists with pharmacokinetics consult service and renal drug dosing, and provides clinical consultation and drug information
• Participates in quality improvement, medication use review, antibiotic stewardship, opioid stewardship, and shortage management activities

Additional Notes

• May need to cover holiday shifts, including Christmas and/or New Year’s
• May need to help cover overnight shifts for upcoming night shift PTO
