Registered Nurse - Med Surg Telemetry

Location

Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Employment Type

Travel assignment
Contract length: 13 weeks

Unit Description

Medical Respiratory Unit with 42 beds, specializing in acute and chronic respiratory conditions
Patient population includes those with pneumonia, shortness of breath, COPD, and other lung diseases
Also cares for medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, occasional stroke, and surgical patients
Includes an 8-bed respiratory step-down unit with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Nurses have a 1:6 ratio on the main unit
Daily interdisciplinary team rounds

Work Schedule & Requirements

36 or 48 hours per week accepted (typically 36 guaranteed hours)
Every other weekend required
Holidays as required
Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Alabama
Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year (minimum 1 year)
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or Red Cross
