Job Opportunity: Xray Tech (Diagnostic Radiology)
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Job Details
- Specialty: Xray Tech (Diagnostic Radiology)
- Contract Length: 13 weeks (minimum contract length)
- Facility Type: Level 1 Trauma, Teaching Hospital
- Unit Size & Hospital Size: Required to include in profile
- Trauma Level: Level 1 Trauma required
- EMR System: Cerner experience required (especially for ED)
- Shift:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM
- Friday to Sunday: 10:00 AM – 11:30 PM
- 4 total weekend shifts per 4 weeks
- Holidays based on unit coverage
- Work Radius: Within 50 miles of facility (driver’s license checked for permanent address)
Experience & Certifications
- Required Specialty Experience: Minimum 2 years of core experience in Diagnostic Radiology / Xray Tech specialty
- Additional Experience:
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Teaching hospital experience required
- Areas of experience preferred: ED/Trauma, portables, OR
- Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
- Licensing: Arizona license preferred to be in hand
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Prior Travel Experience: Required for ED and Neuro ICU roles (implied for this position)
- Orientation: Weekly orientations on Mondays (except holiday weeks)
- Onboarding: Must be completed by 1 PM CST Wednesday before start date; incomplete files will delay start
- Appearance Policy: No facial piercings; only natural hair colors allowed
- Vehicle: Travel teams must have their own vehicles
- Parking: Assigned parking with shuttle to facility; night shift parking in garage
- Teaching: Travelers may work with nursing students
- Scrub Color: Teal
- Prophecy Dysrhythmia Exam: Required 24-48 hours prior to acceptance for certain units (includes ER, ICU, Cath Lab, etc.); maximum 2 attempts allowed; failure results in 6-month disqualification within the region
- Work Restrictions: Cannot work two contracts simultaneously; must be off CommonSpirit permanent staff for 12 months before travel assignment eligibility
