Job Opportunity: Med Surg/Tele RN (MS2)

Location: Show Low, Arizona

Position Overview

• Travel nurse position in a regional hospital with MedSurg/Telemetry unit
• 24-bed MedSurg unit with Telemetry capability on all beds
• Adult patients only; pediatric patients are assigned to permanent staff
• Float to all MedSurg units and ICU (taking MedSurg overflow patients)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (AHA) - required
• BLS (AHA) - required
• NIHSS - required
• PALS - preferred

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med Surg/Telemetry nursing
• Strong neuro and cardiac skills required
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Work Schedule & Environment

• 12-hour shifts
• 36-hour guarantee with up to 3 cancellations allowed
• Nurse to patient ratios:

  • 1:5 during day shifts
  • 1:6 during night shifts
  • 1:4 for pediatric patients (not assigned to travelers)
• Nurse managers do rounds but do not provide direct patient care
• Support staff includes Tele techs, charge nurse, HUCs, and PCTs
• Hospitalist available in-house 24/7
• Respiratory Therapist and Pharmacy available 24/7
• No IV team on unit
• EMR system: Sunrise Allscripts

Additional Information

• Scrub color: any color except all black
• Scrubs are not provided
• Contract length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
