Respiratory Therapist Travel Job - Oregon (Pendleton)

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ACLS (AHA)
• BLS (AHA)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certificate
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via NBRC Certificate
• RRT Oregon License REQUIRED
• Can be RRT or CRT as long as requirements are met

Patient Population & Departments

• Patients of all ages: adults, pediatrics, and neonates
• Approximately 35 babies delivered per month
• Departments covered: Entire hospital including Family Birth Center (FBC), Emergency Room (ER), Medical-Surgical (MS), Critical Care Unit (CCU)
• Minimal involvement in SDS (covid swab taking)

Job Duties & Skills

• Ventilator, BiPAP, CPAP, and bubble CPAP management (including newborns)
• Breathing treatments
• EKGs and ABGs
• Assist with intubation (not independently)
• Daily shift checks and billing of all procedures performed

Work Environment & Scheduling

• Critical access hospital with 5 RT staff; currently 2 RTs short
• 36 hours per week, variable shifts to cover shift holes, FMLA, PTO
• Majority of shifts working alone as the only RT in-house
• Weekend and holiday coverage required
• No call or standby call requirements
• Dress code: royal blue scrubs

Equipment Used

• Draeger ventilators
• V60 for BiPAP
• ResMed for CPAP
• Vapotherm for high flow oxygen therapy

Orientation & Additional Notes

• Department-specific orientation: 3-6 shifts
• Hospitalist on site with a 5-bed CCU
• Ventilator days average 5-7 per month
• Ability to move quickly and walk extensively (6-8 miles per shift)
• Strong prioritization, teamwork, and ability to work independently are essential
