Physical Therapist Job Opportunity

Location: Yuma, Arizona
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Summary

Responsible for the evaluation, planning, administration, and supervision of Physical Therapy treatment in accordance with physician referral, state and national standards, regulatory agencies, and departmental policies. Provides treatment appropriate to the age of the patients served.


Core Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' functional abilities and limitations; determine need for intervention.
  • Establish and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable, functional goals.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams in goal setting and treatment decisions.
  • Provide skilled treatment considering physical, social, spiritual, cultural, educational, and age-specific needs.
  • Document patient evaluations, treatment plans, and progress according to professional guidelines and departmental policies.
  • Communicate patient information and progress clearly and timely to physicians, nurses, patients, families, and team members.
  • Adapt to caseload, scheduling, and staffing needs; assist in other patient care areas as needed.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to therapy assistants, technicians, and students in compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Participate in training, orientation, and competency assurance of personnel.
  • Engage in department meetings, process improvement, and meet productivity standards.
  • Interact professionally with staff across departments, physicians, patients, families, and external healthcare contacts.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from an APTA-accredited Physical Therapy program or equivalent.
  • Current Physical Therapy license valid in Arizona.
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical competency, experience, training, and education relevant to the role.
