Registered Nurse - PACU

Location: Lakewood, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) with experience in Same Day Surgery. The unit includes an 8-bed Same Day Surgery Unit (SADU) and a 10-bed Recovery/PACU area. Patient care involves ortho issues, general surgery, gynecology, and ENT outpatient cases.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Shift: 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 4/10s schedule
• Call: 3 weeknight call shifts per month (7:30 PM – 7:00 AM, with the following day off) and one 24-hour weekend call per month
• Occasional floating to other units as needed
• Scrubs provided for shifts
• Positive, team-focused work environment
• EMR system: EPIC

Patient Ratios & Support

• SADU ratio: 2:1
• PACU ratio: 2:1 and sometimes 1:1
• Full-time nurse aide support on unit

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Experience & Skills

• Team-oriented, positive, and competent in patient care
• Preference for candidates with Same Day Surgery experience, as the team provides both pre- and post-operative care

Orientation & Additional Information

• Unit-specific orientation tailored to RN experience and needs
• Occasional holiday work required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Washington
• ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Experience in PACU and Same Day Surgery preferred
