Med/Surg Tele - 4 West RN

Overview

• Location: Fremont, California
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7a/7p
• Hours: 36 per week
• Unit: Med/Surg - 4 West, a mixed med surg and tele unit with 24 beds

Required Qualifications

• 1 year of recent MedSurg experience
• BLS
• ACLS
• Comfortable with a 1:5 ratio, including total cares patients
• RN license

Job Details

• Tele capability is present on the unit, but RNs are not required to read strips
• Heparin is the only drip titrated on this unit
• No trachs or vents
• CPAP may be used if it is the patient’s regular home routine
• Stable BiPAP patients may be cared for on the unit
• No high-flow oxygen support infrastructure
• Charge nurse does not take patients
• Break nurse is staffed if census is over 8 patients
• Nurse aides are available
• Floating may be to another MSTele unit
• No self-scheduling
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• No call or standby requirement
• Scrubs: navy blue top and bottom only
• Shoes: black or white
• Tattoos must be covered
