Physical Therapist (PT) - Travel Assignment

Location: Redwood City, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

Seeking an experienced Physical Therapist for a travel assignment in an inpatient hospital setting. The role involves working with a diverse patient population including acute care, ICU (ventilated patients), med-surg, oncology, ortho, total joints, and cardiology post-surgical patients.

Work Schedule

• Day shifts, 8 hours per day (varied start times between 8:30 am and 10:30 am)
• Typically Tuesday through Saturday
• Weekend shifts may be required (Saturday or Sunday), with a weekday off during the week of a weekend shift
• Holiday work is mandatory for all staff
• Schedules are prepared about a month in advance

Patient Care Environment

• Inpatient acute care only (no skilled nursing or outpatient for this role)
• Ventilator management in ICU patients required
• Hospitalist and intensivist coverage during daytime hours
• Rehab tech support available
• EMR system: Cerner

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of acute care Physical Therapy experience, including ortho, total joints, ICU, and ventilated patients
• Active California PT license
• Current BLS certification
• COVID-19 vaccination required

Additional Information

• Orientation is brief (usually one day or less) and floor-specific
• No floating to outpatient required, but outpatient staff may float to inpatient
• Dress code: burgundy polo with dark pants (business attire); lab coats optional
• Pharmacy available in-house until 10 pm, with 24/7 access via on-call pharmacist after hours
• Respiratory therapy available 24/7
