Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Truckee, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: Days, Monday – Thursday
Hours: 10-hour shifts (typical start time 6:00–6:30 AM)
Work Setting:

• Outpatient 90%, Inpatient 10%
• Currently working in a mobile unit due to equipment replacement

Job Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine procedures including injecting patients with radioisotopes
• Conduct myocardial perfusion studies
• Manage gall bladder function and bone scans
• Operate nuclear medicine equipment, including Siemens e CAM and PET/CT systems
• Use imaging and scheduling software such as MIM, iMed Scheduling, Keane Radiology System, Philips iSite Enterprise PACS, or similar systems
• Handle 2 to 5 patients per day
• Procedures may require patient time on the nuclear medicine table for 30 minutes to 1 hour, with additional imaging such as echo and stress tests

Required Qualifications

• Valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license in California
• Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
• Certification by either:

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Nuclear Medicine (Nuc Med)
  • Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

• No call, night, or weekend shifts required
• Experience with PET/CT is highly preferred
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system is a plus
• Start date: ASAP
• Contract likely to be extended beyond initial 13 weeks

Summary

This is a day-shift nuclear medicine technologist role in a primarily outpatient setting with a focus on PET/CT imaging and myocardial perfusion studies. The position requires at least 2 years of nuclear medicine experience, appropriate certifications, and BLS. The schedule is Monday through Thursday with no call or weekend duties.
