Registered Nurse — ER/MedSurg

Location

• Wahoo, Nebraska

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Schedule

• Nights
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Holidays: as needed, including one or two holidays during the holiday season

Setting / Unit Details

• Critical access hospital
• Works on a med/surg floor with acutely ill patients and swing bed patients
• May float to the ER if the candidate has ER experience and certifications
• No OB services
• No vents; patients are stabilized and transferred

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Nebraska
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• ED - Emergency Department (2 years of experience)
• ED - Emergency Department experience within the last year
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• Critical access hospital experience
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Ability to set up BiPAP and CPAP
• Med Surg experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous travel experience
• Ability to read strips and manage drips
• ER experience and certifications

Additional Notes

• Rural setting with ER cases such as farm accidents, orthopedic injuries, kidney stones, and flu
• No visible tattoos or piercings
• Nursing handles treatments after hours and on weekends
• Staff may need to set up BiPAP and CPAP; training is available if needed
