Registered Nurse (OR RN) - Michigan, Iron Mountain

Job Details

• Specialty: Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN)
• Location: Iron Mountain, Michigan
• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shift: Day shifts, 8-hour shifts starting between 5:45 AM and 9:00 AM, ending between 1:45 PM and 5:00 PM
• Hours per Week: 40 hours
• Call Requirements: Yes; rotated through trained RNs on weekdays, weekends, and holidays
• Call Response Time: Must be ready to make incision within 30 minutes or less for STAT cases
• Scheduling: Manager builds schedule; no self-scheduling; block scheduling not specified
• Orientation: One week unit/department-specific orientation
• Floating: RNs also cover Pre-surgery/PATT and PACU
• Scrubs: Provided by the hospital

Work Environment & Responsibilities

• Covers 4 suites but typically runs 3 concurrently
• Average of 9 cases per day
• RNs cover Pre-surgery/PATT, OR, and PACU areas
• Scrubbing is not required for RNs
• Uses Paragon EMR system

Common Case Types

• General surgery
• Orthopedics
• OB/GYN
• Urology
• Podiatry
• Cardiology (including pacemakers, lead revisions, etc.)

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, including OR experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience in Orthopedics, OB/GYN, Urology, and Cardiology specialties

Additional Notes

• Clinicians must clock in and out at the facility
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local; local rates apply (pay details excluded)
• If previously employed at this facility, clinicians must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission
