Shift: Nights, 12 hours
Hours per week: 48

Required Qualifications

Active BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
PCU/Stepdown/Tele experience on this unit
3+ years of experience
One successfully completed assignment
No first time travelers
Must have experience with all listed drips: amiodarone, cardizem, dobutamine, dopamine, heparin, nitro, insulin
Must be able to read tele strips

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with TAVR
Experience with CABG

Unit Details

Department: PCU Cardiac/Intermediate Care - A2
Beds: 36
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4 on days, 1:5 on nights
Mixed MS and PCU patients may be present
Cardiac-focused unit
Common patient types include CHF, NSTEMI, MI, heart block, pacer, TAVR, CABG day 2, cath recovery, Watchman, bradycardia, VT, respiratory failure, low blood pressure, low hemoglobin, sepsis, post-surgical patients
Tele is on the unit, with a dedicated monitor tech
Charge nurse is free of assignment and may rarely take a couple patients
PCA support: 8-12 per person, potentially less
RT equipment: bipap, hi flow, stable trach

Floating

May float to ICU within patient population and MS floors

Scheduling / Other

Start dates are not flexible
Weekend requirement: 4 weekend days per month
Holiday requirement: 3/5 holidays
Low census may result in full or partial day
Scrub color: Navy Blue
Orientation: 1 NEO, 1 clinical ed, 1 day floor
