Med/Surg Float RN

Location

Little Rock, Arkansas

Contract Length

13 weeks

Schedule

Day shift, 12 hours
48 hours per week
Every other weekend required

Unit Details

Float pool assignment across Med/Onc, 2 surgical units, and 2 medical units
128-bed Med/Surg unit
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
Total care; no patient care assistants
Remote tele monitoring
Charge nurse is present and takes an assignment
Nurse aides/patient care techs are available; ratios vary
No call or standby requirement
Floating required to any Med/Surg pod
Navy scrubs required

Required Qualifications

RN license
BLS certification
Basic medical/surgical relevant and current experience

Clinical Focus

Surgical patients: colorectal, hepatobiliary, bariatric, general, and orthopedic
Medical patients: diabetes, heart disease, COPD, kidney, and GI conditions

Orientation

3 shifts of unit/department orientation

Additional Notes

No tele on the unit, except occasional strip reading
Respiratory therapy is readily available for support
Transitioning to EPIC in 11/2026
