Cath Lab/IR Tech Opportunity

Location: Omaha, Nebraska
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Required Certifications

  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI
  • ACLS
  • BLS

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years hospital-setting experience in Cardiac Cath/IR

Work Environment & Equipment

  • Department: Cath Lab Tech/IR Tech
  • Number of suites/labs: 3
  • Average cases per day: 4-5
  • Common patient diagnoses: Compression fractures, Venous access, Hydronephrosis, Chest pain, Pulmonary hypertension (PHTN), Shortness of breath (SOB), Gastric ulcer, Pulmonary embolism (PE), Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • EMR/Charting systems: EPIC, Apollo cardiac charting
  • Equipment: Siemens

Job Duties

  • Intra-procedural circulating
  • Supplies and medication administration
  • Sedation

Scheduling & Call Requirements

  • Supervisor approves schedule (no self-scheduling)
  • Minimum 10 weeknight call shifts
  • Minimum 2 weekend call shifts (1 IR and 1 Cardiac)
  • Holiday call required
  • Call response time: 30 minutes from primary campus, ASAP for other campuses
  • Floating required daily and on call as needed
  • Orientation: 1 week including on-call buddy call

Call Team Details

  • Covers three campuses after hours and weekends
  • Most calls are emergent and may require being off campus or at home
  • Expected to live centrally located within 30 minutes of primary campus
  • Call frequency varies (e.g., 8 callbacks in last 30 days for entire team)

Additional Requirements & Policies

  • Must have valid driver’s license at time of submission
  • Radius rule: Must live within 50 miles and cannot be currently employed full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit (including CHI and Dignity)
  • Fingernail policy: Artificial nails prohibited in all patient care departments; refusal to comply may result in contract termination
  • Dress code: Surgical greens
  • Supervisor/Charge Nurse present on each shift (charge nurse does not take patient assignments)

Notes

  • Versatile lab primarily performing IR with cardiac inpatient add-ons
  • Prepared for STEMI cases and able to treat up to intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) stabilization
  • Return to office (RTO) required within 7 days of contract start; no additional RTO approved
  • Work hours: 0700-1730, 4 days per week
