Job Opportunity: Technologist

Location

Job Summary

As a PET/CT Technologist, you will use exceptional communication skills to connect with patients, explain procedures, and ensure their comfort and safety. You will produce high-quality PET/CT images by interpreting physician orders and selecting appropriate imaging parameters. The role requires flexibility to work in various environments such as outpatient centers, mobile units, or hospital-based facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, including pre-screening for contraindications and aseptic injection techniques.
  • Adhere to radiation safety regulations and proper documentation when working with radioactive materials.
  • Produce high-quality diagnostic PET/CT images.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Train new technologists and/or patient care staff.
  • Troubleshoot imaging equipment and peripheral devices.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED (required); Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience (preferred).
  • NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification.
  • CNMT California License for Nuclear Medicine (required to perform PET/CT imaging in California).
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 1-2 years of PET/PETCT imaging experience with adequate training in Nuclear Medicine procedures.
  • Valid state driver’s license (as applicable).
  • Local travel may be required.

Additional Notes

  • CT license is not required as CT is used only for attenuation correction in this role.
  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
