Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse (RN) – Long Term Care (LTC)

Location: Juneau, Alaska
Employment Type: Contract Clinician
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide routine nursing care in predictable situations independently.
• RN II level involves leadership responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Use critical thinking, clear communication, and teamwork skills.
• Work with Matrix Care charting system and basic computer/software programs.
• Floating to other units is not required.
• Work schedule includes variable shifts with rotating weekends; no on-call and no working alone.

Unit Information

• 61 beds (54 currently filled)
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:15-1:21 (days), 1:25 (nights)
• Dress code: Scrubs
• Orientation includes organizational and unit-specific training

Required Qualifications

• Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year of LTC experience required.
  • RN II: At least 1 year continuous experience in a comparable patient care setting.
  • RN III: 3 years current clinical experience or 1 year as RN II.
  • (Use the higher requirement: 3 years clinical experience if applying as RN III.)
• Licensure:

  • Current Alaska Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • TEAM/BERT training required within 90 days of hire.

Additional Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Candidate should be comfortable with Matrix Care charting.
• Floating to other units is not expected.
