Registered Nurse (Medical/Surgical) - Night Shift

Location: Maywood, Illinois
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (12 weeks)
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (36 hours/week, every third weekend)
Unit: General Medicine (4NW)

Job Description

Provide nursing care on a medical/surgical unit during night shifts.
Work schedule includes 36 hours per week with every third weekend required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required for patient care.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
Minimum of 1 year of Medical/Surgical nursing experience within the last year
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Onboarding Requirements

Upload scanned copies of all required certifications, licenses, immunizations, and test results to the credentialing system.
Complete skills checklist provided by the agency.
Submit resume, skills checklist (within one year), and two professional references.

Additional Information

Must provide license verification dated within 30 days of start.
Drug screen must be completed and resulted before start with Medical Review Officer (MRO) signature.
Specialty competency testing and skills checklist must be current.
All documentation must be uploaded and verified prior to or at onboarding.

Pros

Some of the staff are nice and helpful. Pretty big department.

Cons

Assignments can be heavy, got told I would be Neo/Peds, but I get floated everywhere (adults floors/ICU). Have to pay to park ($2/day) in further garage or $5 in closer garage. And the worst is 8hr assignments!
