Job Opportunity: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Austin, Texas
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 06:45 AM – 07:15 PM

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in a high-volume Labor and Delivery/Perinatal setting.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery/Perinatal experience in a high-volume delivery service.
• Preferred experience: 3-5 years of Perinatal clinical experience in a high-volume delivery service.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas.
• Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience, including experience within the last year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
• Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification.
• Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience working with Maternal-Fetal patients.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Certifications

• S.T.A.B.L.E. Program certification.
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring Certification.

Onboarding and Compliance Requirements

• Professional credentials including resume/profile, license verifications, and at least two professional references.
• Background checks including criminal history, social security trace, and national sex offender registry.
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.
• Health requirements:

  • Proof of immunizations/vaccines including MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza (optional but recommended).
  • Tuberculosis screening with 2-step PPD or IGRA and chest X-ray if applicable.
  • Fit testing for respiratory protection.
  • Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually.
• Completion of specialty competency exams and skills checklists prior to or shortly after start.
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, and unit-specific checklists.
• Various onboarding attestations and training modules specific to the specialty and facility requirements.

Additional Information

• Must provide a valid, unexpired driver’s license or state ID matching the address on file.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
