Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU

Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
  • Shift: 36 to 48 hour contracts acceptable
  • Schedule: Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience (minimum 1 year, within the last year)
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

Professional Credentials & Documentation

  • Resume/Profile submission required
  • Signed assignment agreement required prior to onboarding
  • Two professional references required before first assignment
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others completed within 30 days of assignment start
  • Employment verification for the past seven years
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
  • Driver’s license or state ID (must be current and match address on file)

Health & Safety

  • Completed health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Immunizations and health screenings required:
    • MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
    • Varicella (two vaccines, serological evidence, or verified history; no declinations accepted)
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
    • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
    • Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
    • 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing for TB, with chest X-ray if positive, updated annually
  • Fit test for respiratory protection required, preferably before start
  • 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter

Competency & Training

  • Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics, and specialty-specific skills checklist
  • NIH certification updated as required
  • EKG exam with passing score of at least 80%, updated every 3 years
  • Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
  • Onsite onboarding and education attestation required
  • Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)

Additional Notes

  • Contract length is approximately 13 weeks
  • Every other weekend availability is required
  • 36 to 48 hour shifts are acceptable
