Operating Room RN

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (13 weeks)
Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM

Job Description

• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience in an acute care setting required.
• Preferred specialty experience in Orthopedics, Vascular, Robotics, or Plastics.
• Scrub experience is a plus but not required.
• Call schedule: 4 calls per 6 weeks, including 2 weekdays and 2 independent weekend days/nights per 6 weeks.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Maryland.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience, with OR experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Experience in an acute care setting.

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Verification of nursing license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to assignment start.
• Resume or professional profile submission required.
• Completion of a criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, and National Sex Offender Registry within 30 days prior to start.
• Completion of education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days prior to start.
• Submission of professional references prior to first assignment.
• Completion of a signed assignment agreement prior to onboarding.
• Completion of required onboarding education and attestations, including core competencies related to HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA, and specialty-specific skills.
• Completion of skills checklist for specialty within one year of start, updated annually.
• Submission of a forward-facing badge photo with a white or blue background (no alterations).

Health & Safety Requirements

• Documentation of immunizations and health screenings:

  • MMR: Proof of two vaccines or positive titer (no declinations accepted).
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history (no declinations accepted).
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted).
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza vaccine is optional but recommended during flu season (October 1 – March 31); declinations accepted with mask requirement.
• Tuberculosis screening:

  • 2-step PPD or Negative IGRA within required timeframes.
  • If positive, must provide negative chest X-ray within one year and complete annual TB questionnaire.
• Fit test for respiratory protection required prior to start or onsite (annual update required).
• Health statement or physical exam confirming good health prior to first assignment, updated annually.
• 12-panel drug screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Additional Notes

• Call schedule includes nights and weekends on an independent basis.
• Scrub experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
