Job Opportunity: RN Acute Rehab

Location: Mequon, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in an acute rehabilitation setting.
• Must have experience in acute care and long-term care settings.
• Inpatient rehab experience required.
• Must have completed at least 3 travel assignments of 13 weeks each (prior travel experience required).
• Must have medical-surgical (M/S) experience in acute care.
• Flexible with scheduling and good attendance required.
• May need to float onsite within skill set or to nearby sites within 40 miles if needed.
• Nail policy: No artificial or acrylic nails; natural nails must be short (< 1/4 inch).

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Wisconsin in good standing.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Minimum 1 year of experience in acute rehabilitation nursing within the last year.
• Minimum 2 years of combined acute care and long-term care nursing experience.
• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation settings.
• Experience in acute care, inpatient, long-term care, and rehabilitation settings.
• Medical-surgical (M/S) experience in acute care.
• Completion of at least 3 prior travel assignments of 13 weeks each, demonstrating traveler experience.

Health and Safety Requirements

• Documented proof of vaccinations or immunity for:

  • MMR (2 doses or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella (2 doses or immunity; no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza vaccine during flu season (exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
• Tuberculosis screening:

  • 2-step PPD or IGRA within required timeframes
  • If positive, negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire
• Fit test for respiratory protection (3M masks) required annually.
• Annual health statement or physical exam.
• Drug screening: 12-panel drug test within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter.

Documentation and Onboarding Requirements

• Current license and primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Resume/profile and at least two professional references.
• Criminal background check and employment verification covering the past 7 years.
• Skills checklist and specialty exam demonstrating competency in acute rehab nursing.
• Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, OSHA, Joint Commission standards.
• Badge photo (headshot with white or blue background).
• Various onboarding attestations and education verifications as required.

Additional Notes

• Must maintain professional appearance and adhere to nail policy.
• Flexibility to float to other units or nearby sites as needed.
• Prior travel experience is mandatory, reflecting the need for adaptability in different clinical environments.

This position is ideal for experienced acute rehab RNs with a strong background in acute and long-term care nursing, who have completed multiple travel assignments and are looking for a 13-week contract in Wisconsin.
