Job Opportunity: RN ICU - Wichita, Kansas

Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: Every other weekend, no call
Dress Code: Ceil blue scrubs


Required Credentials and Onboarding Requirements

Licenses & Certifications

  • Current Nursing License: Must have primary source verification within 30 days prior to start.
  • Nursys Verification: Required within 30 days prior to start.
  • BLS (AHA): Required before onboarding.
  • ACLS (AHA): Required before onboarding.
  • NIH Certification: Group A updated yearly; Groups B-F updated every 2 years.
  • CPI/MOAB High Risk Online Portion: Must be completed prior to start.
  • Driver’s License/State ID: Must be current and match address on file.

Testing & Exams

  • Ascension Cerner Test-Out: Required before onboarding.
  • Ascension Specialty Exam: Must be completed prior to first assignment and updated every 3 years; minimum 80% passing score.
  • Ascension Core Competencies: Includes HIPAA, Joint Commission NPSG, OSHA topics; completed within a year of start and updated yearly; minimum 80% score.
  • Ascension EKG Exam: Must be completed with at least 80% passing score; only two attempts allowed.
  • Ascension Skills Checklist: Clinical skills checklist to be completed within one year of start and updated annually.

Professional Documentation

  • Signed Assignment Agreement: Required before onboarding.
  • Ascension Resume/Profile: Required for submission.
  • Ascension 2 Professional References: At least two professional references required prior to first assignment.
  • Ascension Criminal Background Check: Includes SSN trace, employment verification, OIG search, national sex offender check; updated annually.
  • Ascension EPLS: Must be run within 90 days of start.
  • Ascension Education Verification: Verification of education relevant to clinical work; must be completed within 90 days of start.
  • Ascension Employment Verification: Employment verification for past 7 years; updated annually.
  • Ascension Confirmation of Assignment: Provided upon initial assignment and updated with extensions.

Health & Immunizations

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer; no declinations accepted.
  • Varicella: Proof of two vaccines, serological immunity, or verified history; no declinations accepted.
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted.
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination.
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement.
  • Positive PPD / Negative Chest X-Ray and Annual TB Questionnaire: Optional but recommended.
  • 2 Step PPD OR IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot): Required prior to start; TB questionnaire updated annually.
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred before start, can be completed onsite.
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment; updated annually.
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start and updated annually; includes testing for 12 specified substances.

Onboarding & Training

  • Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding: Completed onsite.
  • Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation: Completion of pre-hire 6-hour education module.
  • Ascension Nova StatStrip: Pre-hire modules required for non-allied positions.
  • CPI/MOAB High Risk On-Site Portion: Optional, completed at orientation.
  • Ascension Unit Specific Checklist: Optional, uploaded by unit leader within a week.
