Registered Nurse - Post Partum/OB/Labor & Delivery

Location: Traverse City, Michigan
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
Weekend/Holiday/On-Call: As needed
Overtime: Available after 40 hours, no guaranteed hours

Job Description

• Provide care in a high-risk Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP) unit
• Circulate in the Operating Room (OR)
• Manage postpartum, antepartum, and newborn care
• OB triage experience preferred

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) – active at start date
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) – active at start date
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) – active at start date (AHA only)
• AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced) OR NCC C-EFM (Inteleos Fetal Monitoring) – must be current or completed within 30 days of hire

Required Licenses

• Valid, unrestricted, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Valid RN license in Michigan
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Current AWHONN Fetal Heart Monitoring (Intermediate or Advanced) OR NCC C-EFM certification

Onboarding & Compliance Requirements

• Complete a parking form within 48 hours of offer acceptance (if renting a car, notify agency by Monday before start)
• Proof of immunizations or positive titers for:

  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella (vaccination or positive titer only; history not accepted)
• Influenza vaccine required during flu season (Nov 1 – Apr 30), no declinations accepted unless approved medical/religious exemption
• Negative TB test within last 6 months (T-spot, QuantiFERON, or 2-step skin test) or chest X-ray and screening if positive/abnormal
• Fit for Duty health statement completed within 1 year of start
• Ishihara compliant color vision exam
• Drug screen results within 90 days prior to start
• Social Security card upload within 24 hours of offer acceptance
• Driver’s license or state ID
• Completion of core competency exams (OSHA & Joint Commission) at hire
• Skill-specific competencies and self-assessment skills checklist
• Background checks and verifications within 90 days prior to start, including:

  • 7-year national criminal background check with all aliases, sex offender database, FACIS Level 3
  • Education and employment verifications (minimum 2 employers over 2 years)
  • OIG, OFAC, and national sex offender searches
• Completed I-9 attestation and emergency contact form
• Signed healthcare system agreement within 24 hours of offer acceptance

Additional Notes

• No guaranteed hours; overtime available after 40 hours
• Weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts as needed
• Must meet all onboarding requirements to ensure system access and start on time
